Soil Team November Update Part 1
Soil Team,
The session ended in a huge whirlwind. (Thank you thank you thank you to the Week six soil team and Wild Thing for helping with shut down!!) I feel pretty confident that our tarps will not mold over the winter and that all of the soil materials will be reasonably dry and well organized in the fall. I could not have done it myself!
Canoe and I (as well as all of the Outdoor School Staff) are still waiting for confirmation about having jobs in the Spring. We will keep you up to date as developments are made.
The week and a half since Outdoor School ended has been a whirlwind. The staff went adventuring on the Coast for a few days. Here is an image of a CRAZY rock / CRAZY weathering from the trip. I sent this image to many of my geology friends and they report that they think this is probably thermal expansion weathering, or some thing called "Onion Skin" Weathering.
Canoe, Eclipse and I have been having lots of conversations about Social Justice and Outdoor School, and we are excited about the ideas that have been coming out of our conversations.
Canoe has started working at her job-ity job. And I am preparing my undergraduate research for The American Geophysical Union conference on December 3rd - 7th in San Fransisco. This should be occupying all of my time. But alas, here I am making a soil blog.
Keep your eyes peeled for part II of the November update.
